Our purpose

ID1N is a mark created by and for First Nations. The Bear and its directory distinguish authentic products and services from imitations falsely claiming to be Indigenous (copies, imports, usurpation).

The Bear is the ultimate response to cultural appropriation!

Psst – ID1N is to the First Nations products market what Aliments du Québec is to the Quebec food market.

The authentication process

Who can use the ID1N Bear? Artists, artisans, merchants, self-employed workers, small to large businesses and organizations — as long as they are First Nations. Eligible individuals are entrepreneurs of all kinds who hold a status card issued by the federal government. For businesses, ownership and governance must be more than 50% First Nation.

How to become a member

Click on « Sign up » Fill out the registration form (about 5 minutes) and agree to the terms.
Once your identity, ownership, and governance are confirmed, your application is approved.
You will then receive the license to use the Bear logo and your QR code, allowing consumers to verify your authenticity.
Your profile is added to the ID1N Directory.
You can now display the logo and your QR code on your social media, websites, business cards, email signatures, company vehicles, products, and services.

The ID1N Directory is available here. It is an essential tool for individual consumers as well as buyers in the procurement field. This directory is the ultimate answer to the challenges of self-identification. Indeed, the First Nations identity of all registered members has been verified by the ID1N team. Goodbye pretendianness!
